Violence in the school is a result of differences outside school. We as counsellors can’t do anything about it. Discuss.



Violence is not a new issue in our society. It happen an ages ago and involving every level of community regardless of age, races, culture and socioeconomic status. For instance, if we look out in the newspapers, media and through our live observation, the person who get involve in the violence is not only the poor one, but it also reported that the rich group commit the same mistake. There are many kinds of violence such as robbery, sexual harassment, killing, family violence and also violence in the government institution such bribery. There is also violence in political world. The violence also can be divided into two which are low class violence and high class violence. But, sometimes, there are the cases are been brought out to be taken an action to the authorities and some of them are been hide of by several people for the sake of individual rights. However, the violence must be rooted from somewhere. Hence, should we say that the violence is come from the livelihood of the person itself or the influences around him? Do the school institution didn’t play their role in producing a good human or the violence in school itself is resulted from outside differences?




Having said that school is an education institution, everyone especially the parents are depending on this institution to teach their children in order to be a good person where they have been taught academically, co curriculum and the moral education that will shape their children’s behaviour. But, unintentionally, parents are letting their responsible only on the teachers. However , no matter how good the education was, if the awareness of the students itself is in the low level, so the crime will probably happen. Actually, in school itself, the violence happen. It cannot be avoided. If we look in the newspapers and television, there are many cases of violence happen in school. For instance the gangsterisme. It happen when a group of student beaten up a student that resulted him to death. It is a serious case that we read and watch. The incident itself happen in of the religious school in Malaysia. Roughly, the students in the religious school is belief to be a good students, but why it does happen the case or murdering among the family of the school? Prevalently, the moral of the students of the religious is claimed to be a better than the ordinary school. When it happen to be like this, who should be blame? Can we say that it resulted from outside? Sometimes it can be YES and sometimes it can NO.



Prevalently, the teachers should take the responsibilities. But the most important person to be concern about this matter is the counselor of the school. Its not true that counselor can’t do anything about this. We can use many types of approaches to get closer to the students that involve in the violence. There are a lot of theories can be applied. We also can co operate with other parties like teachers of the school, administrators, parents and also the societies. we should play our role in order to help in reducing the violence in school and hence, he can eliminate the violence outside the school. By playing the right role of a counselor, we can build a healthy and harmonious Malaysian. For the God sake, we also doing a good deed for our life in the hereafter. INSYALLAH………………..
